InstrumentizeTo add the instrumentation tools to your slice, go to the slice using the FLACK client. Select the plugins tab.
Click on the "Instrumentize" button.
The time it takes to add instrumentation varies depending on the number of nodes and types of machines contained in the slice. For this tutorial, it should take about 5-10 minutes. Status updates will be shown as the instrumentizing progresses. If you get the error message: It means that the node does not have Instools capabilities. Click "OK". This simply means that those nodes will not have Instools installed on them.
Each aggregate will have a "measurement controller" or MC added. These will appear on the slice screen as they are added to the slice. Here you can see the addition of MCukgeni and MCutahemulab nodes.
Once the instrumentation process is finished the slice background will turn green and the status will be "Instrumentizing complete!" or "Ready".
You can now view the Instools measurements. Choose the plugin tab.
Click on the "Portal" button. |
