Education

 

Dr. Liu has been an assistant professor in the department of Computer Science at the University of Kentucky since Fall 2007. She is a recent recipient of National Science Foundation early career award. She conducted her postdoctoral research in the Biostatistics department at the University of North Carolina at chapel hill under the supervision of Dr. Fred Wright and Dr. Fei Zou between 2006 and 2007. Prior to that, she pursued her Ph.D study in the area of Data Mining with Dr. Wei Wang and received her Ph.D in  Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. She also received her M.S. degree in Computer Science at the University of Viriginia at Charlottesville in 2001 and her B.S. in Computer Science at Peking University in Beijing, China in 1999.

Dr. Liu's general research interests are in the areas of data mining and Bioinformatics.
